KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan Athletic Department announced today a new agreement with Midwest Communications station WVIC 94.1 FM "The Edge" which becomes the latest affiliate station of the Bronco Radio Network for football and men's basketball. WVIC 94.1 FM serves the Lansing, Jackson, and Battle Creek markets reaching all of mid Michigan and the western edge of Southeast Michigan with it's 50,000 watt signal.
"WVIC 94.1 FM is a huge addition to our network extending our football and men's basketball over the air coverage further east for our many fans and alums in mid Michigan," said WMU Assistant Athletic Director and Voice of the Broncos Robin Hook. "Midwest Communications is a great broadcast partner and we are excited to add another powerful FM signal to our network of stations."
"What a great way to begin our affiliation with the Bronco Radio Network. WMU fans will be able to tailgate around Spartan Stadium on Sept. 4 and listen to the Bronco broadcast on 94.1 FM The Edge when WMU opens the 2010 football season at Michigan State," said Scott Truman, Lansing Market Manager for Midwest Communications. "We are excited to be able to bring Bronco football and basketball to the many WMU fans and alums in our listening area."
Earlier this year it was announced that Midwest Communications station WKZO 96.5 FM is returning as the Flagship Station of the Bronco Radio Network. WMU fans will also be able to listen to the Broncos this fall on ESPN 96.1 FM (WMAX) serving Grand Rapids, Holland and Muskegon, and on WBCH 100.1 FM Hastings serving Barry, Calhoun and Ionia counties.
Bronco fans outside the coverage area can access the Bronco Radio Network broadcasts on the internet at wmubroncos.com or on the internet streaming sites of the Bronco Radio Network stations.
