APPEARANCE POLICIES
Buster Bronco, the Western Michigan Broncos mascot, is available to request for community appearances such as Birthdays, Weddings, Organizational Functions, Campus events, etc.
Buster Bronco appearances are on a first come first serve basis, subject to availability. Due to academic and university commitments, we may not be able to confirm appearances sooner than one month before the event date. Buster is available for appearances throughout the year however the summer months, as well as school breaks may be harder to fulfill an appearance request due to school being out of session.

Requests must be made at least two (2) weeks in advance. If Buster Bronco is available, a representative from the WMU Athletic Department will contact you to discuss additional event information and guidelines. Requests must be submitted through the below request form - completion of the request form does not guarantee an appearance.

APPEARANCE FEES
Appearance fees for Buster Bronco participation at an event may be required and is based on type and location of event. Buster appearances are for 1 hour. Extra time needed/requested may be subject to additional charges per hour.

• If an event is outside of Kalamazoo County, individuals/organizations  will be charged a gas fee of $0.67/mile
• If travel to/from is more than 30 min, an additional fee may be added for mascot handler/staffing
• A secure and private dressing area must be available. Water must also be provided
• Buster reserves the right to leave any appearance that is deemed unsafe or harmful
• For every hour worked, Buster must receive a 15-minute break
• WMU Athletics will not lend the Buster suit. Only trained employees will be allowed to be Buster
• Payment must be received in full within 30 days after appearance
  • Upon approval of request, an invoice will be sent
• If parking is limited at the event, please provide an unmarked parking space located close to the designated changing area
• For any canceled appearances, 48 hours notice is required in order to receive a refund. After that time, you will be charged for the agreed upon cost for the appearance

If WMU must cancel an appearance due to illness, personal emergency, weather, class issues, etc., you will be contacted as soon as possible and you will be refunded any amount paid.
