KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan head men's basketball coach Kahil Fennell has announced the signing of Owensboro, Ky., native DeAaron Watkins.

A 6-8 forward, Watkins recently wrapped up his senior season at Daviess County High School, where he accumulated more than 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 100 blocks in his career. After leading the Panthers to a second straight district championship as a senior, he was named a Kentucky All-Star and picked up a litany of other accolades, including First Team All-Area and First Team All-Region selections.

During his junior year at Daviess County, he averaged 16.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while helping the Panthers to the first of their back-to-back district championships and a 3rd Region title.
