KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In conjunction with the Mid-American Conference, the Western Michigan men's basketball team has announced its conference schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season.  
 
For the first time, the MAC is going to a full double-round robin format, with each team scheduled to face all 11 other opponents twice for a total of 22 conference games.
 
The Broncos begin conference play at home for the third straight season, and for the second year in a row take on Buffalo in the league opener, with the Bulls slated to visit University Arena on Dec. 2. Western Michigan follows that up with road trips to Bowling Green (Dec. 5) and UMass (Dec. 9), before returning home to face Toledo on Dec. 12 for the final MAC game prior to the holidays.  
 
Conference play resumes after the first of the year, with the Brown and Gold beginning 2027 on Jan. 2 at Akron. WMU's first home tilt of the new year sees Eastern Michigan come to Kalamazoo on Jan. 5, with Kent State in town a few days later on Jan. 9.

 Western Michigan begins a stretch of four out of six on the road on Jan. 12 at Miami. After returning home to take on Ball State on Jan. 16, the Broncos make trips to Ohio (Jan. 19) and Central Michigan (Jan. 23). WMU begins the second half of the conference slate at home against Bowling Green on Jan. 26, and then closes out January with a visit to Eastern Michigan on Jan. 30.
 
The Broncos start February with three straight home games, beginning with Akron on Feb. 2. After the second game of this year's MAC-Sun Belt Challenge on Feb. 6, WMU is set to entertain Ohio on Feb. 9. Another road stretch sees the Brown and Gold visit Toledo (Feb. 13) and Kent State (Feb. 16), before welcoming UMass to town on Feb. 20. Western Michigan then heads down to Muncie, Ind., to take on Ball State on Feb. 23.
 
WMU's final two home games of the season see rival Central Michigan come to town on Feb. 27, and Miami then visits University Arena for the home finale on March 2. The Brown and Gold wrap up the regular season on March 5 at Buffalo.
 
The 2026-27 Mid-American Conference Championship is slated for March 10-13 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland.
