KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan men's basketball team can move into a first place tie in the Mid-American Conference West Division with a win Wednesday night against Eastern Michigan. Tipoff against the Eagles (5-16, 2-11 MAC) is set for 7 p.m. in University Arena.
The Broncos (10-13, 7-6 MAC) can also clinch the inaugural Michigan MAC Men's Basketball Championship with a win against the Eagles. The award, sponsored by the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, is awarded to whichever MAC team in Michigan (Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan) has the best overall record in their four games against the other two. WMU is 2-0 after defeating EMU and CMU on the road earlier this season.
Fans can hear more about Wednesday night's game on Wednesday afternoon in the Seelye Center at a luncheon hosted by the Fast Break Club at noon. Head coach Steve Hawkins and his coaching staff will speak and take questions from the audience.
