BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Derek Fracalossi set a new career-high for the third straight game with 15 points, but Buffalo ended a two-game losing streak by defeating Western Michigan, 73-62, in front of 4,427 at Alumni Arena.

Joe Reitz led the Broncos with 17 points and five rebounds while Stane's Bufford chipped in 10 points and five rebounds for the Broncos (4-10, 1-3 MAC).

Buffalo (12-3, 2-2 MAC) led by only one, 48-47, with 9:27 remaining after a Brian Snider jumper brought the Broncos back from a nine-point deficit. The Bulls responded with an 11-2 run over the next 3:07 to build their largest lead of the evening to that point, 60-49. The Broncos pulled no closer than six points the rest of the way and the Bulls hit 4-of-5 free throws in the final minute to keep them at bay.

"I thought their experience showed down the stretch, but I'm very proud of our kids effort tonight," head coach Steve Hawkins said. "I thought we did some really good things tonight. We're getting a lot better."

With the score tied at nine in the first half, the Broncos went on a 12-2 run over 5:07 to build a double-digit lead, 21-11, with 10:33 left in the half. Buffalo answered with a 17-2 run to close the half and lead by five, 30-25, at halftime.

The Broncos refused to quit and took the lead back twice in the second half (33-22 & 35-34) before Andrew Atman hit a three-pointer to give the Bulls the lead for good, 37-35, wtih 16:15 remaining in the game.

The Broncos shot 45.5 percent (25-of-55) from the field while Buffalo connected on 45.6 percent (26-of-56) of its shots, including 9-of-22 from long range.

Yassin Idbihi and Calvin Cage tied Reitz for game-high scoring honors with 17 points each for the Bulls.

The Broncos conclude their two-game road trip at Kent State (10-5, 4-0) on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
