KEWADIN, Mich. -- The Western Michigan University women's golf team opened its first day of the 2026-27 season tied for sixth at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational hosted by Central Michigan.

The Broncos carded rounds of 298 and 300 (+22) on Sunday at the A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort to end the first of two days tied for sixth with fellow MAC school Bowling Green. Sophomore Danielle Daniy leads WMU as she is tied for 11th overall after carding rounds of 74-73 (+3). The Brown and Gold ended day one with three golfers in the Top 30, as freshman Annie Flavin and junior Saanvi Venkatesh sit in 15th and 26th respectively. Hosts Central Michigan lead the team field going into Monday with rounds of 283-292 (-1). While Loyola Chicago's Grace Hui leads the individual leaderboard after rounds of 70-69 (-5).

Flavin started her collegiate career off with a bang, carding her first round right at par with a 72. She then shot a second round of 76 to end the day at four above par. Venkatesh was right behind Flavin on Sunday at +6 with rounds of 76-74. Junior Lauren Lupinek rounded out Western Michigan's players adding to the team score, carding rounds of 79-77 to tie for 52nd at +12. 

Freshman Abigail Stendahl had a strong first collegiate showing, tying for 47th after rounds of 77 and 78 to finish at 11 above par. Sophomore Lea Lemieux scored rounds of 84-78 to end the day at +18. While senior Bella Brooks and freshman Katie Pill finished with identical scores of +19 on Sunday to round out the Broncos lineup.

WMU will tee off at 9:00 on Monday morning for the final round of the A-Ga-Ming Invitational. The Brown and Gold will tee off from holes 5, 6, 7, 8, 14, 16, and 17 tomorrow morning.
