LANSING, Mich. – The Western Michigan University women's golf team played one of two scheduled rounds on Sunday at the Mary Fossum Invitational at Forest Akers Golf Club.

The Broncos completed their first nine holes on Sunday morning before weather conditions necessitated a two hour break from play. WMU wrapped up one of the two rounds scheduled for today at 12th in the field with a score of 324 (+36). The Brown and Gold were led by junior Lauren Lupinek on Sunday who carded a round of 77 (+5).

Lupinek was the only Western Michigan player to end the day above 25th as she tied for 17th with nine other golfers. The Broncos second lowest score came from freshman Annie Flavin as she recorded a round of 81 (+9) tied for 50th. Right behind Flavin was junior Saanvi Venkatesh at a stroke higher in round one at 82 (+10).

WMUs last two players ended the day with the same overall round score. Sophomore Danielle Daniy and freshman Abigail Stendahl both carded a round of 84 (+12) to wrap up the Brown and Gold's first round of play.

At the end of the first round, Delaware is on top of the team leaderboard at 298 (+10). Only one individual finished Sunday under par in Rutgers Emily James. James leads the overall player leaderboard after shooting a round of 71 (-1) through 18 holes.

After Sunday's weather delay, the Mary Fossum Invitational has been shortened to only 36 holes as the field will play a single round on Monday. The second and final round of the invite hosted by Michigan State will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
