KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan gymnastics team wrapped up its final home meet of the season with a 195.575-194.125 win over Kent State on Sunday afternoon at University Arena.
The victory gave the Broncos (14-6, 5-1 MAC) a perfect 7-0 home record for the season. It's the first time since 2023 since Western Michigan posted an unblemished home record, going 5-0 that year.
WMU posted solid marks on vault to open the meet with freshman Bella Ciolfi and senior
Makenna King leading the way with 9.800's, tying for third place.
Hannah Milton finished just behind them with a 9.775, while
Brooke Gelesko had a 9.750 and
Casey Mooney a 9.725.
Reese Samuelson continued her strong season with a 9.825 to tie with teammates Garvey and
Aliyah Kelly for second place on bars.
Hannah Milton took first place on beam with a 9.825, followed by Samuelson and Ciolfi in third with 9.775's.Â
The Broncos trailed until the final rotation. WMU's strong showing on floor combined with Kent State's multiple falls on beam led to the Brown & Gold pulling ahead. Gelesko tied for first on floor, matching her career-high with a 9.875. Samuelson and Hamilton both scored 9.850's to tie for second place. Freshman
Molly Sabin had a 9.774 to finish in third.Â
Western Michigan wraps up the regular season next Friday at Rutgers. The Broncos will take on the Scarlet Knights, along with New Hampshire and Long Island.Â
