EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Western Michigan gymnastics tied for its third-highest bars score in program history as the team wrapped up a tri meet at No. 11 Michigan State on Sunday afternoon.
The Broncos (8-6) put up a score of 195.225, the third-straight meet they have posted a 195 or higher, to the Spartans' 197.250 and #24 Maryland's 196.200.
Bars was the highlight of the meet for Western Michigan, with the team posting a score of 49.075 and besting both MSU and UM. Individually, juniors
Kate Parks and
Julie Korfhage tied for third place with a score of 9.875. Korfhage tied her personal best with her score, while Parks posted her best as a Bronco.
Reilan Garvey and
Reese Samuelson scored 9.850's with Garvey's being a season-high.
Makenna King also posted a 9.800 in the event.
WMU tied its season-best score on floor with a 49.075.
Brooke Gelesko was WMU's top performer, setting a new career high with a 9.875.
Kennedy Cooper posted a season-high score of 9.825, while
Julie Korfhage and
Aliyah Kelly both scored 9.800's.
Hannah Milton, King and Gelesko each scored a 9.800 on vault, with Milton posting a season high. Korfage posted the team's top score on beam with a 9.800, while Milton had a 9.725.
