KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Western Michigan junior gymnast
Reese Samuelson has been selected to compete as an individual on bars at the NCAA Regional Championship in Baton Rouge, La., on April 2.
Samuelson qualified after finishing the season with a National Qualifying Score of 9.790 in the event. The Marengo, Ill., native also has an average of 9.748 and a high of 9.875.
Samuelson has won on bars four times this season and has reached a score of 9.800 or higher nine times. Her career-high of 9.875 was matched back on Jan. 11 at Ball State, and then again on March 6 against Illinois State.
This is Samuelson's first time competing at the NCAA Regional Championships.
