BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Freshman
Isabella Ciolfi's third-place finish on beam and junior Julie Korfage's third-place finish on bars highlighted the Western Michigan gymnastics team's performance at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championship at Bowling Green on Saturday.
Ciolfi crushed her previous career high on beam by scoring a 9.850 and finishing in a three-way tie for third. Ciolfi was just edged out by Central Michigan's Luciana Alvarado-Reid and Northern Illinois' Jocelyn Harbeck, who finished with 9.875's at the top.
Korfage scored a 9.825 on bars to earn her medal, tying with Eastern Michigan's Kyrie Lowe. Ball State's Zoe Middleton took second with a 9.875, while Mary Rose Bellan, also from BSU, took first with a 9.900.
As a team, Western Michigan finished in fifth with a score of 194.525. CMU took first with a 196.025, with Ball State in second, Kent State in third, Eastern Michigan in fourth, Bowling Green in sixth and Northern Illinois in seventh.
The Broncos had some hiccups on bars and beam as a team, but were determined to finish strong and did so on floor. WMU combined for a 49.175, its second-highest score on floor this season and the second-highest in the field at the MAC Championship.
Hannah Milton started off WMU's floor rotation with a 9.825. Korfhage and freshman
Molly Sabin both added 9.850's, a career-high for Sabin. Ciolfi had a 9.800 and
Brooke Gelesko closed things out with a 9.850. Gelsko also had WMU's top score on the vault with a 9.800.
