KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan assistant captain
Alex Bump has agreed to an entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, the organization announced today.
Bump played a critical role in the Broncos winning the 2025 National Championship along with the Penrose Cup and NCHC Frozen Faceoff title. He led the team in points and goals throughout the season.
The Prior Lake, Minn. native finishes his prestigious college career with 83 points on 37 goals and 46 assists. He played in 80 total games and averaged 1.04 points per game. He was dangerous on the power play, tallying 10 goals on the man advantage. He also had six game-winning goals in his time with the program.
He had a career season in 2024-25, producing 47 points on 23 goals and 24 assists. All of those marks were career bests. He was +11 and scored seven times on the power play.
Bump earned numerous awards throughout his career, but none were better than his First Team All-American honors from last week. Along with that, the young winger was the NCHC's Forward of the Year and a finalist for the league's Player of the Year award.
He was also a unanimous First Team All-NCHC selection this season and began his career with NCHC All-Rookie honors a season ago. Bump is the first First Team selection since Jason Polin in 2022-23.
Outside of the rink, Bump was also a great student. He earned NCHC All-Academic honors both years in Kalamazoo.
