KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Despite an off week in the schedule, the Western Michigan hockey team was able to keep its spot in the national rankings.
The Broncos didn't move in either poll, maintaining the No. 7 spot in the USCHO poll and the No. 8 ranking in the USA Hockey poll. Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State, North Dakota and Minnesota Duluth made up the top five in both sets of rankings this week.
The Brown and Gold were joined in the polls by several other NCHC teams, including North Dakota, Minnesota Duluth and Denver. Colorado College, Miami, Arizona State and St. Cloud State were receiving votes. Omaha was the lone conference team not recognized in the polls this week.
Western Michigan will be back in action on Dec. 28 in the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off. The Broncos will open the tournament against Boston College at 8:30 PM ET. The event is taking place in Milwaukee, Wis. at the Fiserv Forum.
