KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan men's and women's basketball programs are set to tip off the 2025-26 season with Bronco Hoopfest on Friday, Oct. 17, at University Arena. 

The inaugural event recognizes the beginning of the season for both programs on campus. Doors to University Arena will open at 5:30 pm, with the event beginning at 6 pm. Admission and parking for Hoopfest are both free. Fans are encouraged to park in lot 13 across from the Student Rec Center.

Bronco Hoopfest provides an opportunity for the Western Michigan community to interact with the basketball programs on campus, including a meet and greet, photo opportunities, autographs, fan-friendly activities, competition for prizes and chances to win some great Western Michigan gear!

"This is a great opportunity to bring our fans together before we tip things off this season," Western Michigan head men's basketball coach Dwayne Stephens said. "We're looking forward to a fun night with our fans!"

"There is a lot of excitement surrounding our program and the momentum behind it," WMU head women's basketball coach Kate Achter said. "There's no better way to tip-off our season than inviting the community and our fans to join us for Hoopfest!"
