KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Thanks to outstanding seasons on the field,
Jen Blitchok,
Madi Canada,
Heidi Thomasma and
Abby Werthman were named All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
Blitchok was selected to the first team after finishing the season with 47 points on 18 goals and 11 assists. She broke the program's single-season record for goals and points in 2024. She also surpassed the program's career record for points. She was the MAC Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-MAC selection.
Canada had a strong year in the midfield, collecting eight points on one goal and six assists. She paced all midfielders on the team in points and assists. Her offensive play helped WMU break the program record for points, goals and assists in a season. She was a First Team All-MAC honoree this season.
Thomasma spearheaded a strong defensive unit that closed the season with 11 shutouts and just 17 goals allowed. She started all 21 games while chipping in three assists on the offensive end. Thomasma was a First Team All-MAC selection.
Werthman was the other half of WMU's dynamic duo up front. She finished the year with 33 points on 12 goals and nine assists. She also broke the old program record for goals and points in single season. Her eight-point performance in the MAC Championship game was a league record. She earned Second Team All-MAC honors to go along with MAC Tournament MVP recognition.
