Women's Soccer Set to Host Miami

KALAMAZOO, Mich -- After clinching their spot in the 2026 MAC Women's Soccer Championship, the Broncos return home against Miami (OH) in a Sunday afternoon match up at the WMU Soccer Complex. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 1 pm on Sunday, Oct. 25.

LAST TIME OUT
A two-goal performance from Tessa Fagerson and the first collegiate goal for RJ Wagamon led the Broncos to a 3-0 victory in Mount Pleasant against Central Michigan. The win clinched the Broncos spot in the MAC Women's Soccer Championship, taking place in Columbus, Ohio from Nov. 7-13. Fagerson pushed her team lead in goals to seven and her MAC lead in points to 18.

TICKET PUNCHED
The Broncos have officially punched their ticket to the 2026 MAC Women's Soccer Championship. WMU earns its spot in the six-team tournament after posing a 6-1-1 conference record and collecting 19 of 24 possible points in conference play. Three consecutive victories over Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, and Central Michigan put the Broncos in position to earn their spot in the tournament no matter what happens in their remaining three games. In those final three games, the Brown and Gold look to earn their fourth straight MAC regular season championship.

BUSINESS AS USUAL
The Western Michigan Women's Soccer team has once again found itself atop the MAC standings, powered by a surge from the Bronco offense. Across their eight MAC games, the Broncos have totaled 24 goals, good for an average of 3.0 goals per game in comparison to their 0.86 goals per game in non-conference play. The Broncos have scored three or more goals in five of their eight MAC contests, including a season-high seven goals against Kent State. On their way to a 6-1-1 MAC record the Broncos have outscored their conference opponents 24-6, an 18 goal point differential.

ROAD WARRIORS
The Brown and Gold have dominated their way through road contests, posting a 5-0-0 record in conference on the road. Of the 30 total goals scored for WMU this season, 19 of them have come from conference road match ups, accounting for 63.3% of their offensive production on the season. In those five conference matches the Broncos have outscored their opponents 19-4, averaging 3.8 goals per game. Three goals has been the magic number, as the Broncos are undefeated once reaching that mark.

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
The Miami (Ohio) RedHawks come into Kalamazoo with a 3-2-3 MAC record and a 7-6-3 overall record. Tied for fourth place with Akron and Ball State, the RedHawks are hungry for their spot in the MAC Women's Soccer Championship. Miami is led on offense by Kayla Perfect, who has posted five goals and three assists across her 15 games played this season. In net the RedHawks are led by Dominique Popa who posts a 1.19 GAA and .698% save percentage across her 16 games started.
