JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Western Michigan junior golfer Alissa Fish took third overall at the Den Benbow Invitational hosted by Butler at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Course on Tuesday.
Fish was tied for fourth heading into today's final round and shot a 75 (+4) for a 36-hole total of 149 (+7). It is the third top-three finish for Fish this season and her fourth in the top 10. Butler's Ally Ross took the individual medalist spot after shooting a 140, followed by Eastern Michigan's Anna Watson in second at 146. Fish finished with 25 pars and two birdies for the tournament.
The Broncos moved up two spots from yesterday to finish in fifth place with a season-best combined round of 303, finishing with a 624 (+56). The host Bulldogs finished at the top with a 609 (+41).
Freshman Allyson Barth was WMU's second finisher on the day, moving up 26 spots to finish tied for 13th after shooting a season-low round of 73 (+2). She combined to finish with a 155 (+13). Senior Imogen Courtney was the Broncos' third finisher, tying for 23rd with a 36-hole total of 157 (+15). Seniors Cameryn Lucia and Brooke Gibbons rounded out Western Michigan's lineup with Lucia tying for 46th after shooting a 163 (+21) and Gibbons coming in at 168 (+26).
Western Michigan is off the next two weeks and returns to action on March 28-29 at the Diane Daugherty Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois.
