KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's basketball team returns to Kalamazoo for just its second home game among its first seven contests on Saturday as it welcomes Cleveland State to University Arena.

Following a stretch of four straight away from home, Western Michigan returns to University Arena on Saturday afternoon to face Cleveland State. Just two of WMU's first seven games this season are in Kalamazoo, with the only prior home game for the Broncos this season being a 99-62 win over Goshen College back on Nov. 10.
LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos are coming off of a 1-2 weekend at the Owl Invitational down in Houston. Western Michigan ended the trip with a 63-57 loss to Georgia Southern on Sunday afternoon. In Sunday's contest,
Lamar Norman Jr. notched his fourth straight game of 20+ points, as the senior poured in a game-high 23. Norman averaged 29.7 points per game for the tournament, including a career-high 36 in last Friday's Western Michigan victory at Houston Christian.
MAKING HIS MARK
Markeese Hastings grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds for the Broncos in Sunday's setback against Georgia Southern. Hastings has secured double-digit rebounds in four of Western Michigan's first six games this season, and is fourth in the MAC in rebounding, averaging 8.0 boards per contest.
WMU VS CSU
Saturday marks the seventh all-time meeting between Western Michigan and Cleveland State, with the two teams having split the first six meetings. The Broncos are 3-1 at home against the Vikings, but CSU won the last meeting in Kalamzoo, a first round game in the 2015 CIT, on March 18, 2015. The last overall meeting was also a Cleveland State victory, 85-62, on Dec. 7, 2016 in Cleveland.
SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
After opening the season 0-3, Cleveland State has bounced back to win three in a row. On Wednesday, the Vikings picked up a 77-63 home win over Chicago State. CSU's leading scorer is Tristan Enaruna, who is averaging 13.2 points per contest. The Utah transfer is also the leading rebounder for the Vikings at 7.8 per game, which is tied for fourth-best in the Horizon League.
SCORIN' NORMAN
After leading the MAC in scoring last season,
Lamar Norman Jr. has picked up right where he left off, as he once again finds himself at the top of the conference, averaging 23.2 points per game. Since arriving from Duquesne prior to last season, Norman has scored in double-figures in 34 of his 36 games as a Bronco, and led WMU in scoring 30 times. The senior has also posted 19 games of 20+ points and six of 30 or more.
NORMAN REACHES 1,000
During his career-high 36-point night in last Friday's win over Houston Christian,
Lamar Norman Jr. went over 1,000 points for his college career. The senior currently sits on 1,064 career points, with 331 having come at Duquesne, and 733 at Western Michigan.
LEAGUE-LEADING LAMAR
In addition to leading the conference in scoring at 23.2 points per game,
Lamar Norman Jr. also sits atop the MAC in both made three-pointers (4.2/game) and free throw percentage (.952) so far this season.
THE WRIGHT STUFF
Titus Wright scored in double-digits twice last weekend in Houston, including a career-high 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting) last Saturday at Rice. Wright is averaging an efficient 10.2 points per game, as the junior has made 60.5 percent of his shots from the field, which is second-best in the MAC.
CLEANING THE GLASS
The Broncos have been strong in the rebounding department thus far this season, winning the rebounding battle in five of their first six games. WMU ranks second in the MAC in both total rebounds (39.3) and rebounding margin (+8.7).
366 AND COUNTING
After making seven three-pointers on Sunday against Georgia Southern, WMU has made at least one three-pointer in 366 straight games dating back to 2011.
