THE FIRST SERVE
Western Michigan closes out the 2022 regular season on Wednesday night ast it welcomes Northern Illinois to University Arena for a 6 pm contest.

LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos are coming off of a pair of five-set defeats on the road at Central Michigan over the weekend. On Friday, WMU got out to a 2-0 lead, but the Chippewas stormed back for the victory. Western Michigan bounced back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to tie up Saturday's match twice, but CMU ultimately won in five for the second straight day.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Northern Illinois has won three in a row, including a pair of wins at Eastern Michigan over the weekend. The Huskies need a win over the Broncos or a Buffalo loss to Akron to secure a spot in next week's Mid-American Conference Tournament.

WMU ALL-TIME VS NIU
Western Michigan holds a 36-29 advantage in the all-time series against the Huskies. Back on Sept. 27 in DeKalb, Ill., Northern Illinois outlasted the Broncos in a five-set thriller.

LONG LIVE THE KING
WMU's Maggie King continues to rank at the top of the conference in kills (428) and points (485.0), which rank 20th and 18th, respectively, in the nation. The senior is also amongst the league leaders in kills/set (2nd, 3.89), points/set (2nd, 4.41), service aces (3rd, 43) and aces/set (3rd, 0.39).

DIGGIN' IT
Libero Andelyn Simkins collected 63 digs last weekend against CMU. The junior opened the series with a then career-high 30 on Friday, and then established a new career high with 33 on Saturday. Simkins' weekend made her the first Bronco to record 30 or more digs in back-to-back matches since Kathleen Reilly eclipsed the 30-dig mark in the first three matches of Western Michigan's run to the 2017 MAC Tournament championship match.

SETTING THE TABLE
Setter Logan Case is making a strong bid for her third straight MAC Setter of the Year award. The junior enters Wednesday tied for the national lead with 1,284 assists this season, and is atop the MAC, as well as third nationally, at 11.67 assists/set.
