THE FIRST SERVE
Following its four-match homestand, Western Michigan is set to head out on the road for its next four contests. WMU begins its road swing in Muncie, Ind., this weekend against Ball State.

The Broncos split for the third straight weekend, knocking off Toledo in straight sets on Friday, before falling to the Rockets in four on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
After dropping its first two conference tilts, Ball State has won seven in a row, most recently picking up a four-set victory over Toledo on Wednesday. The Cardinals sit atop the MAC with a .247 hitting percentage, with both Marie Plitt (1st, .393) and Lauren Gilliland (8th, .305) among the league leaders. BSU setter Megan Wielonski ranks second in the conference with 10.64 assists/set.
ALL-TIME VS BALL STATE
WMU trails the all-time series against Ball State 50-48 heading into this weekend. BSU won all three meetings last season, including a four-set victory in the semifinals of the MAC Tournament.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
Maggie King racked up double-doubles in both of WMU's matches against Toledo last weekend to tie
Logan Case for the team lead with eight this season. King had 11 kills and 11 digs in Western Michigan's straight-set victory over the Rockets on Friday, then followed that up with 15 kills and 11 digs in Saturday afternoon's contest.

Keona Salesman have formed a dynamic duo for the Broncos this season. Entering the weekend, King is second in the MAC at 3.63 kills/set, while Salesman is fifth at 3.18. In conference play, Salesman has upped her average to 3.68, second-highest in the league, while King is right behind in third at 3.62.
CONSISTENT CASE
Heading into the Ball State series, WMU setter
Logan Case remains atop the Mid-American Conference in assists per set at 11.62 (11.68 in league play). The junior's 11.62 per set average is the third-highest in the country. Going back to the end of the 2021 season, Case has racked up 30 or more assists in 34 consecutive matches.
