KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team earned the Silver Award for the United Soccer Coaches Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award.
WMU was one of 75 high school and college teams to earn the silver award, which is given to team stat accumulate a percentage of cards ranging from 11-30%.
"This is an important award for our program," said head coach Sammy Boateng. "The ladies in our program compete hard every day at training and in games and they do it with fair play and good sporting behavior. I'm extremely proud of the group for this accomplishment."
The Broncos collected just four yellow cards in 18 games this season.
