Scouting the Broncos
Last season Western Michigan finished one game shy of clinching a spot in the Mid-American Conference tournament, finishing with an overall record of 23-25, 12-13 in conference play. It was the fifth straight year WMU recorded at least 20 wins and fifth year in a row the Brown & Gold had double digit conference wins.
Grys Closing In On Home Run Record
Senior
Nate Grys needs just 10 home runs during his senior campaign to become WMU's all-time home run leader. Grys currently has 19 career home runs.
Bunt-U
Western Michigan was one of the best in the nation last season in sacrifice bunts, ranking ninth in the NCAA and first in the MAC.
Seniors Lead the Way
The Broncos have nine seniors on the 2019 roster in

Cooper Marshall,
Jimmy Roche,
Conner Henderson,
Nate Grys,
Chris Modrzynski,
Matt McConnell,
Casey Horjus and
Jesse Forestell. Of the nine seniors, six step up to the plate and have a combined .259 batting average.
WMU at Comerica Park
For the second time in the last three season, Western Michigan will square off with Big Ten Conference foe Michigan State at Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers. The Broncos will challenge the Spartans in Detroit on Tuesday, April 2.
Scouting the Opponent
Southeast Missouri State finished last season with an overall record of 27-30 and was 20-10 in Ohio Valley Conference play. The RedHawks clinched the No.2 seed and won its first game in the OVC tournament before falling to No.3 seed Morehead State and No.4 seed Jacksonville State.
The RedHawks are led by Justin Dirden who last season hit .340 with 16 home runs and 68 RBIs. Dirden also scored a team-high 46 runs.
