KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Former Western Michigan infielder
Brendan Harrity has signed a contract with the Westside Woolly Mammoths of the United Shore Professional Baseball League.
A native of Brighton, Mich., Harrity started a pair of games at third base for the Woolly Mammoths over the weekend and scored a run in his professional debut.
As a senior this spring, Harrity hit .257 in 50 games for the Broncos and registered 26 runs scored, five doubles, a pair of home runs and 24 RBIs. In conference play, he boosted his batting average to .279. Defensively, he posted a .958 fielding percentage while splitting time between shortstop and third base.
Harrity started all 55 games on the left side of the infield for Western Michigan in 2024 and hit a career-best .299 with a .392 on-base percentage. He also posted career highs in runs scored (31), doubles (8) and walks (21), while helping the Broncos to the second MAC Tournament title in program history.
Over the course of his Western Michigan career, Harrity played in more than 150 games and owned a .265 batting average with a .341 on-base percentage. He racked up 135 hits, 82 runs scored, 23 doubles, seven homers and 62 RBIs for the Brown and Gold.
A two-time Academic All-MAC selection, Harrity graduated from WMU this spring with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management.
