Broncos Welcome Alma College Tuesday Night

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the first time since 2010 the Western Michigan men's basketball team welcomes in-state foe Alma College to University Arena on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan is off to a 3-1 start for the second consecutive year and with a win can move to 4-1 for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign. Through four games the Broncos own the Mid-American Conference's third best offense, scoring 84.8 points per game.

Free for a Reason
Heading into Tuesday's contest WMU ranks first in the NCAA in free-throws made (107) and free-throws attempted (140). As a team the Broncos are shooting 76.4 percent from the charity stripe.

Flowers in the National Rankings
Junior guard Michael Flowers is proving to be one of the best scorers in the nation, ranking 28th in the NCAA at 22.5 points per game. Flowers also ranks seventh in the NCAA in total points (90) and 12th in the nation in three-pointers made (14).

Johnson Heating Up
Redshirt junior Brandon Johnson has scored over 20 points in each of the last three contests. Johnson matched his career-high with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field at Ole Miss last Friday. On the season, Johnson is averaging 17.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

Western Michigan is outscoring its opponents, 162-136 in the first half this season.

Scouting the Competition
Alma College heads into Tuesday's contest with an overall record of 0-2. To begin the season, the Scots suffered a seven-point loss at No. 17 Augustana College prior to a 19-point defeat at the hands of Illinois-Wesleyan. The Scots are averaging 71.5 points per game and are shooting 42.4 percent from the field.
