WMU Hosts Aquinas in GOLD OUT on Saturday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Returning home for the second time this season the Western Michigan men's basketball team hosts Aquinas College in a GOLD OUT on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 2:00 p.m. Fans and students are encouraged to wear GOLD and support the Broncos inside University Arena.

Scouting the Broncos
For the first time since 2014 the Broncos are 2-1 after coming off a thrilling 85-77 overtime victory at Oakland on Tuesday. Western Michigan has had a balanced offensive attack this season as four Broncos are averaging in double figures.  

Last Time Out vs. Aquinas
WMU and Aquinas last met on the court back in the season opener in 2014 with the Broncos coming away with an 87-57 victory. In the win, the Bronco backcourt of David Brown and Austin Richie was electric going 18-of-21 from the field.

Awards Rolling in For Seth Dugan
It has been quite a week for Seth Dugan as the senior center was named MAC West Player of the Week on Monday and MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. In three games this season, Dugan ranks second in the MAC in scoring and first in rebounding.

A Trio of Double-Doubles
Against Oakland, WMU had three players record a double-double. The senior duo of Seth Dugan and Josh Davis each earned their second double-double of the season with Dugan scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Davis having 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Michael Flowers registered his first career double-double with a career-high 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Points Galore
Through three games the Broncos have accumulated 238 points. The most points in the first three games of the season since 2014.

Always on the Floor
WMU has three players that rank in the top 10 in the MAC in minutes per game. Against Oakland, the starting five played 184 of the total 225 minutes.

Davis Becoming a Regular on SportsCenter
Senior Josh Davis earned a spot on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays on Wednesday, coming in at No.9. Davis had an acrobatic and-one to give the Broncos the lead with two minutes left in overtime. To watch the play, CLICK HERE.

On the Horizon
After Saturday's contest the Broncos will hit the road for the next week, squaring off with Cincinnati on Monday, Nov. 19 before playing two games at the Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Fla. WMU takes on Southern University on Friday, Nov. 23 and then play either Nicholls State or North Carolina Central the following day.
