NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Western Michigan men's tennis team wrapped up day two at the 2018 ITA Midwest Regional on the campus of the University of Notre Dame Friday, Oct. 19.
During day one of competition on Thursday, Oct. 18,
Zac Faveri andÂ
Peter Kuszynski both earned two singles wins to advance to the third round of the qualifying draw.
In the round of 16, Kuszysnki defeated Jorge Quispe from Illinois State 6-4, 6-4 to improve his record to 10-2 on the season while advancing to the main draw tomorrow morning while improving his record to 10-2 on the season.
Faveri had his eight-game winning streak snapped, falling 7-6, 6-7, 6-7 against Benjamin Slade of Cleveland State.
Four pairs of Broncos opened doubles competition, with three of four playing three rounds. Kuszynski and
Jack Randall led the way for WMU, earning three wins to advance to the quarterfinal round. The pairs of

Nick Schnobel each won twice before falling in the round of 16. Faveri and
Kennosuke Nouchi fell in the round of 64. Â
Tomorrow, the first two rounds of the main singles draw will begin with the doubles quarterfinal to follow.
Randall, Opitz, Haupt,
Matej Svjetlicic, and Kuszysnki will compete in the singles main draw.Â
