Ashton Adesoro has been named the Mid-American Conference Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week.
Adesoro went 1-0 on the weekend, winning at the No. 1 singles spot against Purdue. Adesoro defeated 55th-ranked Nour Fathalla 6-2, 7-5. Adesoro had to battle through injury in the second set, but pulled out his second win over a nationally-ranked singles player this Spring.
Adesoro and the Broncos are back in action on Friday at Michigan at 5 p.m. to wrap up an 8-match road trip. Western Michigan finally returns home to host Marquette and Ferris State for a double-header on Friday, Feb. 20.
