bThe Western Michigan men's tennis team fell 4-1 at the University of Michigan on Friday evening.
The Broncos (6-5) started off strong by taking the doubles point. UM had the early advantage after a win at No. 1 but WMU responded with a win at No. 3 by
Oscar Corwin and
Jonas Keck. The duo earned a 6-4 win over Arnav Bhandari and Nicholas Steigleher to tie it up at 1-1.
Ashton Adesoro and
Jack Davison the secured the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 2 over Mert Oral and Bjorn Swenson.
Michigan won singles matches at No. 1, No. 6, No. 5 and No. 3 in two sets to win the match. Riedel and Corwin were both in the third sets of their matches when things went final.
Western Michigan returns home for the first time since Jan. 17 on Friday when it hosts Marquette and Ferris State in a double-header beginning at 10 a.m. WMU then welcomes Michigan State on Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
