Broncos Welcome Cleveland State for Midweek Tilt

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Western Michigan men's basketball team will take on its second Horizon League opponent of the season as Cleveland State heads to University Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN3.

Scouting the Broncos
The Broncos are 4-4 on the season and is coming off a tight 78-73 loss to mid-major power Oakland on Saturday. WMU is led by its efforts on the defensive side of the ball ranking second in the Mid-American Conference in steals, third in rebounding and fifth in blocks.

Wilder Moving Up the WMU Record Book
Senior guard Thomas Wilder continues to re-write the WMU record book as the Montgomery, Ill., native ranks in the top ten in multiple career categories:
• Scoring – 1,596 (7th)  
• Free-Throws Made – 458 (3rd)
• Free-Throw Attempts – 575 (6th)
• Assists – 308 (9th)
• Steals – 132 (7th)

Wilder is One of the Best
Wilder continues to cement himself as one of the best to play at WMU as he is the only player in program history to amass 1,500 career points, 300 rebounds and 300 assists. Wilder has also scored in double figures in 27 straight games, the sixth longest streak in the NCAA.

Stellar Junior Year for Josh Davis
Junior guard Josh Davis is having his best season since walking on campus in Kalamazoo as the Detroit, Mich., native is averaging 9.5 points per game and leads the Broncos with 7.4 rebounds per game. Through eight games this season, Davis has amassed career-high totals in field goals made (27), rebounds (59), blocks (8) and points (76).

Mr. Jones Off the Bench
In the last five games coming off the bench, sophomore Reggie Jones has averaged 9.0 points and 3.2 rebounds. This season Jones ranks fourth on the team with 8.6 points per game and is 12-for-12 from the free-throw line.

220 and Streaking
Western Michigan has made at least one three-pointer in 220 consecutive games.

Broncos Don't Falter Halftime Leads
When having the lead at halftime the past two seasons, WMU is an outstanding 16-4.  

Scouting Cleveland State
Cleveland State heads into Wednesday's contests with an overall record of 2-5 and is coming off a 72-62 loss at Kent State. The Vikings lone wins came at home against Arkansas State and Coppin State while CSU is 0-4 away from home. Cleveland State is led by Kenny Carpenter who is averaging 14.2 points and 7.2 rebounds.
