Men's Basketball Releases 2015-16 Non-Con Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan men's basketball team announced it's non-conference schedule for the 2015-16 season today, with the Broncos opening the year on the road at DePaul and playing six non-conference regular season games at home to bring their season total to 15 home competitions. WMU will also participate in the 2015 Challenge in the Music City Tournament in Nashville, Tenn. over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Broncos begin the year with a home exhibition against Kalamazoo College on Saturday, Nov. 7. They then head on the road in a game that will air regionally on Fox Sports when they take on the DePaul Blue Demons at McGrath-Phillips Arena on Nov. 14. The 2015-16 regular season home opener comes on Nov. 17 against San Diego, a team the Broncos split with in two games at the Wooden Legacy tournament last season. WMU will travel southbound to take on 2015 CIT team UNC-Wilmington (Nov. 21) before returning home to host Rochester College (Nov. 23) for the second straight season.

WMU will compete in the Challenge in the Music City from Nov. 26-29, starting with a game against 2015 NCAA Tournament team Stephen F. Austin at 4:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The Broncos will face the Liberty Flames on Friday, Nov. 27 and close out the weekend with a game against 2015 CBI participant Mercer on Sunday, Nov. 29.

The month of December opens with a road game at James Madison (Dec. 3) before the Broncos return for three straight games at home, two of which will be against 2015 postseason participants. WMU will look to avenge last season's loss to last season's Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champion Northeastern on Monday, Dec. 7 to start the run at home. Marygrove comes back to town for a Saturday afternoon tilt on Dec. 12, and the Broncos close the homestand against 2015 CIT participant IPFW on Tuesday, Dec. 22. WMU closes out the month with a road game against Vanderbilt (Dec. 30) and gets its final tune-up for Mid-American Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 2 when hosting Jacksonville.
