KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In conjunction with the Mid-American Conference, the Western Michigan men's basketball team has announced its conference schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
The league opens up conference play in late December, with the Broncos slated to tip it off at home on Dec. 20 against Buffalo. It marks the second consecutive season the Brown and Gold will begin MAC play at home, following three straight seasons of road MAC openers.
Western Michigan's first two road tilts of conference play come on either side of the New Year's holiday. WMU visits Toledo on Dec. 30, then rings in 2026 with a Jan. 6 trip down to Oxford to face Miami.
The Broncos will spend much of the remainder of January in Kalamazoo, with four of their next five contests at home. WMU hosts Eastern Michigan on Jan. 10, then matches up with MAC newcomer UMass for the first time on Jan. 13. After a Jan. 17 trip to Akron, Western Michigan returns to University Arena to face Bowling Green (Jan. 20) and Central Michigan (Jan. 24).
The next two road contests for the Brown and Gold will be against opponents they're only slated to face once during the regular season. WMU visits NIU on Jan. 27, then begins February down in Athens against Ohio (Feb. 3).
Following the second matchup of this year's MAC-Sun Belt Challenge on Feb. 7, the Broncos return to Kalamazoo on Feb. 11 for a rematch against Toledo. After a Valentine's Day date at Eastern Michigan (Feb. 14), Western Michigan welcomes Akron to University Arena on Feb. 17. WMU hits the road for its ensuing two contests, with trips to Central Michigan (Feb. 21) and Bowling Green (Feb. 24).
The Broncos close out February at home against Miami (Feb. 28), then wrap up their regular season home schedule on March 3 against Ball State. Western Michigan's regular season finale is set for March 6 at Kent State.
The 2025-26 Mid-American Conference Championship is slated for March 12-14 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland.
