Incoming Freshman Yancy Named AAU All-American

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - It was announced today that Stephenee Yancy, an incoming freshman at Western Michigan and a member of the Bronco volleyball team, has been named an AAU All-American.

Yancy, who signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Broncos in Fall 2011, is among the 14 individual players to be selected an AAU All-American at the 18 Club level. A middle blocker, Yancy helped Chicago Ultimate G18 Gold take third place in their classification at the AAU Girls' Junior National Volleyball Championships in Orlando, an event featuring 1,700 teams from across the country.

Chicago Ultimate G18 Gold swept through their 13 best-of-three matches at the tournament, losing just three sets along the way en route to the final match. They fell to Mizuno Northern Lights 18-2 in straight sets 2-0 (25-22, 25-15) to wrap the weekend.
