CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2025 Volleyball Academic All-MAC Team on Monday, with Western Michigan earning eight selections, tied for the most in the league. WMU's eight honorees were Reeghan Boyer, Mary Clare Brusek, Elana Erickson, Amanda Glanton, Maddie Kmetz, Annalise Patchett, Carley Piercefield and Leah Richmond. Boyer, Brusek and Glanton were tabbed Academic All-MAC for the third straight year, while the other five are all first-time honorees.
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who excel in both athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
 
Reeghan Boyer • Senior • Finance • 3.93
Played in all 33 matches for the Brown and Gold, starting 19, with the last 13 coming as WMU's libero. Ranked second on the Broncos in total digs (430), digs per set (3.39) and service aces (28).  
 
Mary Clare Brusek • Senior • Exercise Science • 3.77
Started all 33 matches and paced Western Michigan in kills (377) while hitting .296 on the way to an All-MAC First Team selection. Overall, ranked 10th in the MAC with 2.99 kills per set. In conference play, was fourth in the league in kills per set (3.46) and fifth in hitting percentage (.352).
 
Elana Erickson • Sophomore • Special Education • 3.79
Earned starts in 28 of WMU's 33 matches, including 19 as the libero. Paced the Brown and Gold in both digs (456) and digs per set (3.59), and also posted a team-best .960 reception percentage. Served up 23 aces, third-most on the team.    
 
Amanda Glanton • Senior • Mechanical Engineering • 3.84
Started 20 of the 32 matches she played in for the Brown and Gold this fall. Overall, finished second in the MAC with 139 total blocks and an average of 1.21 blocks per set on the way to an All-MAC First Team selection. In conference play, led the MAC with 103 total blocks and 1.45 blocks per set while also hitting .359, the fourth-best mark in the league.
 
Maddie Kmetz • Redshirt Junior • Exercise Science • 3.73
Appeared in 18 matches, starting six, for Western Michigan. Collected 106 digs (1.83 per set), and upped her average to 1.87 digs per set in conference play. Served up 18 aces and was third on the team in aces per set at 0.31.  
 
Annalise Patchett • Sophomore • Exercise Science • 4.00
Started 12 of the 32 matches she appeared in for the Broncos. Recorded double-digit kills 18 times and finished second on the team with 309 kills and a 2.60 kills per set average. Also totaled 46 blocks, including 12 solo rejections, which were the second-most for WMU.   
 
Carley Piercefield • Sophomore • Elementary Education • 3.48
Played in all 33 of Western Michigan's matches and started 20, including one as the libero. Recorded double-digit digs 14 times and ranked fourth on the Broncos in both total digs (301) and digs per set (2.37). Also served up 20 aces.
 
Leah Richmond • Redshirt Freshman • Exercise Science • 4.00
Started all 33 matches for the Broncos. Led the conference and ranked top-50 in NCAA Division I at 9.93 assists per set on the way to All-MAC First Team and All-Freshman Team selections. Finished third on Western Michigan with 414 digs and 3.31 digs per set, and racked up a single-season, program record 26 double-doubles.
