Ross HenryOn changes made from last nights game:
“This
whole week we just worked on a lot of back checking, and not giving up
shots in the middle. I thought we back checked pretty well
tonight.”
On underestimating Northern:
“I don't think we underestimated them. We have to play 60 minutes every game and we definitely didn't
tonight. It's always nice when we come back and coach kind of kicks us in the rear.”
On having the longest unbeaten streak in the nation:
“Yeah,
but they haven't been all clean wins. They're all wins and we deserve
them, but we have to play 60 minutes. We just have to put together 60
minutes of hockey, and like coach says, if we don't anybody can beat us,
and if we do we can win.”
On changes for tomorrows game:
“Definitely
coming out ready to play right away. Our first period was a little
rough. We picked it up in the third. We need to stay more disciplined,
and not get so many penalties.”
On grabbing his first goal of the season:
“It's nice. A big burden off the back.”
Greg SquiresOn changes made from last weeks games:
“I think we played more intense. Last weekend, we were soft, and
tonight we focused on the little details.”
On underestimating NMU:
“No, I think it was just a weird game. It had a weird flow. It was a battle back and forth.”
On having the longest unbeaten streak in the nation:
“No,
it's just one of those things. We're playing well, and we have good
goal tending. It gives us confidence but I don't think we're thinking
about it too much.”
On changes for tomorrows game:
“We need to
come ready to play again. They're good, and they have good goaltending.
We have to come out to play and not get complacent.”
Coach
Jeff BlashillOn changes made from last weeks games:
“We
needed to execute better. We gave up late leads both games at Lake
State, so I thought it was critical for us to close this game out.”
On coming out flat in the 1st period:
“The
first period definitely didn't have the competition level that it takes
to win, and NMU did. It's not a lack of want, but I think our guys came
back and played two good periods in terms of energy level.”
On having the longest unbeaten streak in the nation:
“I
don't think so. I think our guys understand. They know the focus is on
the next game. I don't think they think about the win streak at all.
They know how critical every point is. Sometimes it's tricky to get in
and play psychiatrist in those situations. Sometimes they put too much
pressure on themselves. I know our guys want to win.”
On competition between Kuhn and Pisellini:
“I
think Pisellini is just getting back. When you're off that long as a
goaltender, you just have to keep working on the fundamentals to get
back and make sure you're doing a good job. Jerry has played outstanding
in a number of games and also in practice, so we're pretty happy with
our goaltending.
On changes for
tomorrow nights game:
“Well,
they had more energy. We need to come out and win more stick battles.
We still need to show better coverage, there was a time at the end of
the game where we gave up big, so we need to show that up.”
