Defenseman Luke Witkowski:
On the biggest difference from last night:
"It starts with us 'd'. I thought our passing was tape-to-tape like it should of been. We definitely didn't play our game and I thought they came out a lot stronger than they did last night. We kind of sat back on our heels for a little bit and didn't know what hit us."
On the turning point in the game:
"Their power play goal I think it was in the second period. That was a big turning point."
On the positives from the game:
"We need to know how it feels to lose like that too. That's a good team. We take out of it what we can. We played good Friday, and we take out of Friday what we can and we'll be good."
On how to rebound:
"It just wasn't there tonight. We'll go to work Monday."
Captain Ian Slater:
On the positives from the weekend:
"We played a very tough team in Miami. We showed we can come out and compete with the best of them when we're playing our game. It's one hockey game and we're moving in the right direction, but when you're playing one of the top teams in the country and you take the night off, you're going to get games like that one we just played. We just didn't have that edge."
On the intensity of the game:
"Penalties will play a role in it and they'll hinder where the game goes but you gotta find a way to play with resilience and move through that. At the same time, when you're coming out and you're playing someone else's intensity and someone else's game mentality, you're going to play catch-up the whole game. We didn't come out prepared and it reflected on the scoreboard."
On how to rebound:
"We take one game at a time. We come back Monday and we get to work. We constantly keep growing as a team, keep competing and getting better through practice, go up to Northern Michigan on Friday and compete again."
On the physical game:
"It's tough to say that Miami is more physical than any other team. I think when we're playing our 'A' game it's not as evident. They came out, they were ready to play. They had an extra step on us, that will and want to get to the puck better than we did. Maybe that showed through the physicality, but I don't think they were any more physical than the other teams except for the fact that we didn't come out prepared and exceed their want."
