Senior Max Campbell:

On his game-winner:

"I just got a pass out of the zone, the defenseman didn't have the best gap on me, so I skated and beat a guy for I think the first time in my career. I got a step on him and managed to stick in inside the far post."

On the strong start and pressure:

"Especially we came out the first two periods because obviously, these guys are highly ranked. They're a good team. That was our goal, to come out hard and pressure them and take penalties. A team like that, you got to get the man advantage if you want to take the lead quick."

Head Coach Jeff Blashill:

On the overall effort:

"As I've said a lot, we try to coach the process and I thought the process was very good from the drop of the puck basically through the entire game. We obviously made some mistakes and we're going to against a team that has as much talent as they have. I thought our process was very good. I told the guys after the game I thought our effort was good. When you have that type of effort you're going to have some success."

On Max Campbell:

"Max has been great except for maybe one hockey game. He's been outstanding all year in terms of his effort, in terms of coming to win puck battles, win puck races, play on the right side of the puck. He's got a lot of offensive ability so he's going to get the puck on his stick a lot and I though tonight was I don't want to say one of his better games because he's been so consistent every night. Obviously against a great opponent, it was good to see him play that strong."

On the defensive effort:

"Well, they still had chances and they had some chances there on the power play. I would say they missed open nets, so we're going to have to look at our last penalty-kill and make sure we execute better than that. Miele walked in there and Pise made a great save, I think Smith might have walked in there in the first too. We got to do a good job with our defenseman by making sure they have to come through us to get to the net. Our body position has to be great, and I thought we did a good job of that for the most part tonight. DeKeyser, Witkowski, Tennyson, those guys are big and have long reaches and they did a good job with that."

On the special teams:

"That was a big goal. Obviously that was a mistake on their goaltender's part, but we had a good read by Chase Balisy. He's one of the smartest hockey players I've been around. He made a real good read on that to make the steal and if I'm in their shoes I'm sitting there saying that was a mistake on their goalie's part. It was great for sure. I thought our power play was good with the first goal. After that, I thought it could be better. When you get that many opportunities we need to be better to some level. I actually thought we got tired a little because we had to play the same guys over and over because we had that many power-plays. That's something we need to work on. Make sure our guys are in that elite kind of shape so we can play those minutes."
