WMU scored no three point baskets in the first half, shooting 0-6. This is only the second time this season the team has shot 0% from 3 point range in the first half. The Broncos went 0-8 from three point range in the first half vs. Ball State on January 20th, 2010.

David Kool finished the game with 30 points, making him the new all time scorer at WMU with 1,790 points. The previous record was 1,787 points set by Manny Newsome during the 1963-64 season.

This is the fourth time this season and sixth career time that Kool has scored 30 or more points.

Donald Lawson had 14 rebounds on the game, bringing him a new career high. His previous was 12.

Donald Lawson had his fourth double-double of the season and his career, with 12 points and 14 rebounds. He also made six free throws for the third time in his career.

Akron shot 53.3% on the game, making that the highest field goal percentage of an opponent that WMU has faced this season. The previous high was 51.1% by Ball State on January 20th, 2010.

Martelle McLemore had 3 steals on the game, tying his previous career high which was set vs. Toledo on January 14th, 2009.

WMU fell to 10-3 when out-rebounding the opposition

The Broncos allowed 70 points or more for just the seventh time this season.
