KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Western Michigan freshman Simone Sharpless was named MAC Offensive Player of the week, the league announced earlier today.

In the Broncos' lone game of the week, Simone played an integral role in a 3-0 victory over Toledo. She scored the first goal of her collegiate career early in the second half before setting up teammate Gracie Lynn for the first goal of her collegiate career just minutes later. Simone finished the week with three points on one goal and one assist. She is the first Bronco to earn MAC player of the week honors this season. 

Simone and the Broncos will be back in action this Thursday, Oct. 1, for a conference match up at Kent State. The game is slated to kick off at 7pm in Ohio.
