KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team will host Colorado on Thursday evening at the WMU Soccer Complex. The two teams will hit the field at 4 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Western Michigan concluded its Hawaii trip by defeating the Rainbow Wahine by a final score of 3-1. That helped the Broncos claim the Outrigger Invitational championship.
Sophia Bowman,
Tessa Fagerson and
Irelyn Sheldon each scored their first goals of the season. Bowman and Sheldon's tallies were the first of their careers.
Meredith Vance also picked up her MAC leading second assist of the season in the match.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Broncos have formed one of the best home field advantages in all of college soccer, owning a 24-2-3 record at the WMU Soccer Complex since the start of 2023.
Entering Thursday's match against Colorado, the Brown and Gold hold the longest active home winning streak in the nation (18). WMU's last home loss came back on Nov. 2, 2023 against Kent State in the MAC Tournament.
HUHN'S STRONG START
Despite being just a freshman,
Camryn Huhn has had no trouble getting acclimated to the college game. The Dearborn, Mich. native leads the Broncos with three points so far this season.
Huhn has at least one point in both games this year, scoring the game-tying goal in WMU's season-opening draw against Idaho, while adding an assist on the game-winning goal against Hawaii a few days later.
This comes as no surprise, as Huhn was one of the most highly-touted prospects in the state. She concluded her high school career with 107 goals and was named the 2026 Michigan Women's Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year.
SCOUTING THE BUFFALOES
Colorado is off to a great start, opening the 2026 campaign with a 3-0-0 record. The Buffaloes have taken down Colorado State, Army and Cal State Fullerton.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two programs.
Reagan Kotschau and Michaela McGowan have led the way this season, combining for 13 points on six goals and one assist. The Buffaloes have nine players with at least one point so far this season.
In net, Jamie Campbell has started all three matches. She boasts a 0.67 goals against average and .800 save percentage. Brooke Goerish has also played in all three games, owning a 1.42 GAA and .667 save percentage.
