CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Four members of the Western Michigan women's golf team have been recognized by the Mid-American Conference for their work in the classroom.
Seniors
Jenna Hayes and
Megha Vallabhaneni, junior
Macy Beeson, and sophomore
Lauren Lupinek were all named to the 2025-26 Women's Golf Academic All-MAC Team on Monday afternoon. Beeson, Hayes, and Vallabhaneni are all earning their second or third honor on the team while this is Lupinek's first time being named to the Academic All-MAC Team.Â
This is Beeson's second time earning the honor as a junior sports management major with a 3.59 cumulative GPA. Beeson competed in 10 tournaments for the Broncos this season and had a career-high finish at the WMU Bronco Fall Classic finishing 16th. Hayes is earning her third-straight Academic All-MAC honor as a senior finance major with a 3.97 GPA in four years at WMU. The senior played in 10 tournaments and had a season-high finish of 11th at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational.Â
Lupinek is a sophomore sports management major with a 3.84 cumulative GPA for her first honor. She appeared in 11 tournaments for the Brown and Gold, setting a new career-high with a fourth place finish at the Dayton Flyers Invitational this fall. Lupienk also had a career low round in Dayton, carding a 69 in the final round to finish the tournament only four strokes behind first place.Â
Like Hayes, Vallabhaneni is earning her third-straight Acasemic All-MAC recognition. The senior sales and business marketing manager earned a 3.81 overall GPA during her time at Western Michigan while setting new program records. Through 11 tournaments this season, Vallabhaneni averaged 74.6 strokes for the lowest single-season average in Bronco history. She also earned the program record for lowest career average at 75.98 strokes. Vallabhaneni's best finish during the 2025-26 season was second at the WMU Bronco Fall Classic at nine over par after beginning the season with a third place finish at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational at one under par.Â
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled or completed in the particular sport. First-year students and any transfer students in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments for the current season only are considered.
