CLEVELAND – The Western Michigan men's basketball program had a pair of student-athletes named to the 2025-26 Academic All-MAC Team, with redshirt junior forward

The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who excel in both athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
A Sales & Business Marketing major with a 3.80 GPA, Burton was named to the Academic All-MAC Team for a third consecutive season after starting all 30 games he played in for the Brown and Gold this year. The Williamston, Mich., native averaged 5.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest and finished second on Western Michigan in both rebounding and blocks (16).
Sulaka earned an Academic All-MAC selection for the second straight year for the Broncos. Owner of a 3.68 GPA as a Finance major, he appeared in 24 games this past season and made his first career start in the season finale at Kent State. The Macomb, Mich., native collected 2.9 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 51.9 percent from the field and netted a career-high 10 points in the victory over Defiance.
