Women's Tennis Host MAC-Leader UMASS on Friday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team hosts UMASS on Friday at 12 p.m. before heading on the road to take on Buffalo on Sunday at 12 p.m. Prior to the start of Friday's match, the Broncos will take time to celebrate its Senior Class.

SENIOR CELEBRATION
Western Michigan celebrates its Senior Class of Lola Glantz, Polina Khotko and Audrey Smitek prior to Friday's start.

LAST WEEK
The Broncos (12-6, 3-2 MAC) took down Bowling Green last Friday to move into the top four of the MAC standings, tied with Toledo. WMU will need to finish in the top four to make it to the MAC Tournament.

BGSU started off taking the doubles point but graduate student Lola Glantz quickly tied it up with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Tia Clemens at No. 1 that would lead to her earning MAC Singles Player of the Week. From there, WMU rattled off four-straight points to pick up the match victory.

TOUGH TASK
Western Michigan has tough tasks ahead in the matches against UMASS and Buffalo. Both teams are 5-0 in MAC play, tying for first place. The Minutemen have only three losses on the season, with a 6-2 record on the road.

The Bulls are 15-1 at home this season.

TOP 50?
Senior Audrey Smitek sits at 112 career total wins with at least four matches left to play. If Smitek can pick up eight more wins, she will crack the program's Top 50 in total wins.

CLOSING IT OUT
Western Michigan wraps up the regular season next Sunday on the road at Eastern Michigan at 1 p.m.
