GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Western Michigan women's basketball team had four players recognized for their work on and off the court as members of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team.
Seniors
Alli Carlson,
Ariana Wilkes, junior
Nile Muguira Orbe, and sophomore
D'Myjah Bolds all earned the honor this week as announced by CSC. Carlson is a second time selection for the honor while Wilkes, Muguria, and Bold were first-time selections.
Bolds has a 3.97 cumulative GPA in sport management after two years with the Broncos. The sophomore forward appeared in 27 games for WMU while averaging 7.4 points and 5.0 rebounds a game. Bolds led the Brown and Gold in blocks for the season with 28 swatted shots, the most for a Western Michigan player since Taylor Williams in 2022-23. She was also tied for most rebounds on the team with 136 the past season.
The only repeat recipient of an Academic All-District selection, Carlson owns a 3.67 cumulative GPA in exercise science. Carlson played in 28 games for the Broncos and started all 28 games as well. The senior averaged 10.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists a game during the season. Carlson led the team in assists with 123 on the season and became the 12
th WMU player in program history to record over 300 assists in their career.
Muguira, a native of Guernica, Spain, has a 3.91 cumulative GPA in biomedical sciences following the fall semester. Muguira was one of only two players that appeared in all 29 games for the Brown and Gold in 2025-26. The junior started over 85% of games for Western Michigan while averaging 5.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. Muguira was third for the Broncos in made three pointers with 36 and second in assists with 56 helpers.
In her final season playing collegiate basketball, Wilkes earned the Academic All-District selection with a 3.71 cumulative GPA in psychology. The senior appeared in 28 games for WMU while starting 20 times. Wilkes averaged 4.9 points and 4.9 rebounds a game in the Brown and Gold jersey. Wilkes led the team in rebounds with Bolds, recording 136 on the season. She was also second on the Western Michigan roster in field goal percentage at 49.0% with 80 made shots.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the court and in the classroom. The CSC All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
