Bolds, Carlson, Harness, and Muguira Orbe named to Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced Thursday that 49 student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 Women's Basketball Academic All-MAC Team. Of the 49 recipients, Broncos D'Myjah Bolds, Alli Carlson, Alli Harness, and Nile Muguira Orbe were awarded Academic All-MAC honors. 

Bolds has a 3.97 cumulative GPA in sport management after two years with the Broncos. The sophomore forward appeared in 27 games for WMU while averaging 7.4 points and 5.0 rebounds a game. Bolds led the Brown and Gold in blocks for the season with 28 swatted shots, the most for a Western Michigan player since Taylor Williams in 2022-23. She was also tied for most rebounds on the team with 136 the past season.

Carlson owns a 3.67 cumulative GPA in exercise science. Carlson played in 28 games for the Broncos and started all 28 games as well. The senior averaged 10.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists a game during the season. Carlson led the team in assists with 123 on the season and became the 12th WMU player in program history to record over 300 assists in their career. This is Carlson's second selection to the Academic All-MAC Team after being honored in the 2024-25 season. 

Harness has a 3.21 cumulative GPA in sport management after three semesters at Western Michigan. The guard played in 28 games for the Brown and Gold while starting in eight contests across the season. Harness averaged 6.6 points, and 2.4 rebounds a game in her second season with the Broncos. The sophomore was a big contributor behind the arc for WMU as she made the second most three-pointers on the team with 38. Harness also led the Brown and Gold at the free throw line with Western Michigan's best free throw percentage. Harness made 89.7% of her free throws in 2025-26 for 26 points for the Broncos. 

Muguira, a native of Guernica, Spain, has a 3.91 cumulative GPA in biomedical sciences following the fall semester. Muguira was one of only two players that appeared in all 29 games for the Brown and Gold in 2025-26. The junior started over 85% of games for Western Michigan while averaging 5.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. Muguira was third for the Broncos in made three pointers with 36 and second in assists with 56 helpers.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA, have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport, and are in their second year with their institution.
