Broncos Check in at No. 5 in National Polls

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team was able to maintain its spot among the top teams in the national polls this week.

The Broncos checked in at No. 5 in both the USCHO and USA Hockey rankings. Michigan, North Dakota, Michigan State, Denver and WMU made up the top five in both sets of rankings.

NCHC wise, WMU was joined by UND, DU and Minnesota Duluth. Miami and St. Cloud State were both receiving votes in the polls. Colorado College, Omaha and Arizona State did not receive any recognition in this week's polls.

Western Michigan has turned its attention to the NCAA Tournament, with the selection show set to air on March 22. The Brown and Gold will be a No. 1 seed in one of the four regionals for the third time in five years.
