KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Thanks to an NCHC Quarterfinals sweep over Colorado College this past weekend, Western Michigan was able to retain its spot in the national rankings.
The Broncos held firm at No. 4 in both the USCHO and USA Hockey rankings. The Brown and Gold received one first-place vote in the USCHO poll. Michigan, North Dakota, Michigan State, WMU and Providence made up the top five in both sets of rankings.
NCHC wise, WMU was joined by UND, Denver and Minnesota Duluth. Miami and St. Cloud State were receiving votes this week. Colorado College, Omaha and Arizona State did not garner any recognition in this week's polls.
Western Michigan is set to travel to Denver to battle with the Pioneers on Saturday, March 14. The two teams will hit the ice at 8 PM ET at Magness Arena. For tickets in the WMU section, visit
