LAST TIME OUT

The Broncos are coming off of an 87-76 loss at Miami on Tuesday evening. Jayden Brewer paced Western Michigan in points (19), rebounds (9) and assists (4) in the contest. Also in double-figures for WMU were Justice Williams, who tallied 14 points off of the bench, and Jalen Griffith, who added 10 points.

BALANCED BRONCOS
Western Michigan had six players score at least eight points in Tuesday's contest at Miami. The Brown and Gold have featured a balanced attack all season long, with 11 different Broncos having scored in double-figures at least once, and five having posted at least one game with 20 or more points. Leading the charge with nine double-digit scoring performances apiece are Jayden Brewer and Jalen Griffith. Six different players have been WMU's top scorer in a game so far this season, led by Griffith, who has paced the team in scoring seven times.

LET JAYDEN BREW
Jayden Brewer nearly collected his fifth double-double of the season on Tuesday night, tallying 19 points and nine rebounds at Miami. The FIU transfer has been a key addition for the Broncos this season, ranking second on the team and 18th in the conference in scoring at 13.4 points per game, and also leading the Brown and Gold and sitting fifth in the league in rebounding at 7.6 per contest. His first basket of the game on Tuesday night got him to 1,000 points for his collegiate career, and Saturday is set to be his 99th career game at the collegiate level.

GRIFF GETTING IT DONE
Jalen Griffith has also made a big impact in his first season for the Brown and Gold. The junior has been in double-figures nine times, led Western Michigan in scoring a team-high seven times and has recorded five or more assists in six contests in 2025-26, including a career-high 10 to record the first double-double of his collegiate career in the win at SIUE on Dec. 6. Griffith leads WMU in both categories, ranking 10th in the MAC in scoring (15.1 PPG) and ninth in assists (4.2).

CRASHING THE BOARDS
Western Michigan led the MAC in offensive rebounding in each of the first three seasons under head coach Dwayne Stephens and has gotten back to crashing the offensive glass over the last few games, leading the league in offensive rebounding in conference play at 14.3 per contest. Max Burton has led the way with 3.3 offensive boards per contest in MAC play, which ranks third in the conference, while EJ Ryans has chipped in 2.0 per contest in league games.

DEFENDING THE ARC
Western Michigan has stepped up its defense of the three-point line in conference play. After holding Miami, one of the best three-point shooting teams in the nation, to 4-of-16 (.250) on Tuesday night, the Brown and Gold are allowing MAC opponents to hit just 26.5 percent from downtown, the third-best mark in the conference.

DIALING LONG DISTANCE
The Broncos enter Saturday having made at least one three-pointer in 470 straight games, dating back to the 2010-11 season. Brady Swartz has been WMU's top sharpshooter, hitting three-pointers at a 47.1 percent clip, the second-best mark in the MAC.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the 127th all-time meeting between Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan, with the Broncos holding a 66-60 advantage in the series. WMU won last season's lone meeting in Kalamazoo and has taken each of the last three matchups at University Arena. The two teams will meet again on Feb. 14 in Ypsilanti.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Eastern Michigan won at Ball State on Tuesday night to even its conference mark at 2-2. The Eagles have three different players averaging at least 12.0 points per game, led by Mohammad Habhab at 13.7 points per contest. The redshirt freshman ranks fourth in the MAC in rebounding at 7.7 per game, and has five double-doubles this season, tied for second-most in the conference.
