KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Sophomore goaltender
Hampton Slukynsky was selected to the Preseason All-NCHC Team, the league announced this afternoon.
The Warroad, Minn. native received 21 of 30 votes to earn the preseason recognition. He is joined by Sam Harris (F, Denver), Cullen Potter (F, Arizona State), Max Plante (F, Minnesota Duluth), Jake Livanavage (D, North Dakota) and Eric Pohlkamp (D, Denver).
Slukynsky was sensational last season, guiding the program to its first ever National Championship, Penrose Cup and NCHC Frozen Faceoff championship. He finished the 2024-25 season with a 19-5-1 record, 1.90 goals against average and .922 save percentage. He led the NCHC and set the single-season program record for GAA.
With that success, he was able to rack up the awards. The Los Angeles King draft pick was selected to the Frozen Four and Fargo Regional All-Tournament Teams, while also claiming College Hockey News All-Rookie Team recognition. In conference, he picked up All-NCHC Second Team and NCHC All-Rookie Team honors. He was also a finalist for the league's Goaltender of the Year award.
The young goaltender didn't stop there, as he won two gold medals with Team USA. He won both the World Junior Championship and the Men's World Championship last season.
Slukynsky and the Broncos will open the season with a home exhibition game against the UNSTDP on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 6 PM. The regular season home opener is set for Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 PM against Ferris State. For tickets, visit
