KEWADIN, Mich. -- The Western Michigan University golf team earned a podium finish at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational on Monday afternoon along with two top five individual results. 

The Broncos ended their first tournament of the season in the same place they did the first day, earning third place out of 13 teams at 25 strokes over par. WMU combined for a final score of 253, shooting 84-81-88 over the three rounds starting on Sunday morning and lasting unitl Monday afternoon. Leading the way for Western Michigan was Megha Vallabhaneni, who placed fourth carding a stroke under par for the tournament.

In the final round on Monday, Vallabhaneni shot right at par with a score of 76 to take the Broncos best score. She was followed by freshman Danielle Daniy, who bounced back from a non-scoring day on Sunday, with a round three score of 78 at only two over par.  Also adding to Western Michigan's score on its A team was Jenna Hayes who carded at five over par on Monday with a score of 77 and Lauren Lupinek who also had a final round score of 77.

The Broncos B team ended the tournament in 12th place at 72 over par. Bella Brooks led WMU's second team by placing fifth in the individual standings, hitting par for the tournament with a score of 228. On Monday, Brooks had her best round of the weekend, carding six under par for a total of 66. Brooks also tied the Western program record for lowest individual round at a tournament with her impressive performance on Monday.  

Kailey White also had a strong final round at A-Ga-Ming for Western's B team, carding four over par for a score of 80. Saanvi Venkatesh and Lea Leimeux also scored for the B team with final round scores of 79 and 83 respectively.

WMU returns to action on the course in two weeks at the Badger Invitational from Sept. 14 through Sept. 16.
